Recent years have seen an intensification of interest in both digital and material cultures. This broad trend has been mirrored in the academy by the growing prominence of digital humanities and the renewed focus on materiality and material objects within humanities disciplines.

Registration has now opened for Digital Material, a conference that considers the intersections of digital and material cultures in the Humanities. The conference will be held at the National University of Ireland, Galway on 21-22 May 2015, and registration is free for all participants.

The two-day conference features speakers from a range of disciplines (literature, history, archaeology, classics, art history, folklore, music, game studies, education), perspectives from the library and museum sectors, and creative artists. The plenary lectures will be delivered by Jerome McGann (University of Virginia) and Matthew G. Kirschenbaum (University of Maryland). The provisional conference programme is available at: http://digitalmaterial.ie/programme/
