A half-day event co-organised by the Irish Humanities Alliance (IHA), the Scottish Arts and Humanities Alliance (SAHA) and the Royal Irish Academy (RIA).
As human-centred fields of research, the Arts and Humanities are fundamental to fostering creativity, firing the imagination, navigating a shared history, and promoting inter-cultural dialogue. The event aims to explore the progress achieved in implementing the recommendations of the first Joint Bilateral Review of the Irish and Scottish Governments. Launched in January 2021, the Joint Bilateral Review has provided the chance to further strengthen the relationship between Ireland and Scotland.
Speakers include Mr Jerry O’Donovan, Consul General of Ireland in Edinburgh; Professor Triona McCormack, Vice-President for Strategy and External Engagement, UCD and Ms Katy McNeil, Head of Scottish Government Office, Dublin, discussing culture, collaboration and diaspora.
This panel will be followed by a showcase of Scottish–Irish research projects by Dr Aoife Crummy (UCD) and Dr Helen MacGrath (UCC) - awardees of the Ireland-Scotland Bilateral Network Grants.
Registration is free and booking is essential here.
