In the wake of the Anthropocene's undeniable imprint on our planet, a new cultural narrative unfolds, intricately woven with themes of ecological consciousness and responsibility. Ecocriticism unveils the complex tapestry of human responses to the decline of biodiversity and environmental instability, inspiring narratives of resilience, conservation, and reconnection with the natural world. Through literature, art, and discourse, this cultural evolution prompts introspection and action, fostering a deeper understanding of our interconnectedness with all life forms and the urgent need for collective stewardship of our planet.
In the upcoming lecture, four experts from ENLIGHT universities will share their insights from current research:
• Marina Grishakova and Silvia Kurr (University of Tartu)
• Nessa Cronin (University of Galway)
• Vera Alexander (University of Groningen
• Éric Mazé (Univerity of Bordeaux)
All members from the ENLIGHT community, external partners and wider public are welcome to join the lecture. You can register and participate here.
Networking event after the lecture for researchers from ENLIGHT universities
Each lecture is followed by a networking event for the scientific community. In the brand-new virtual space, the researchers from ENLIGHT universities can not only continue the discussion on the lecture's topic but also use the opportunity to identify common research interests. This event serves as a platform for developing new ideas for future cooperation within the network. The ENLIGHT team supports this process by providing insights on funding opportunities. Researchers from all stages are more than welcome to join in!
