Ó Thrácht go Twitter’ Seminars in Irish language writing and communication studies
The final seminar in the ‘Ó Thrácht go Twitter’ seminar series will take place at 3.30pm on Wednesday 7th May 2014 in A109, Newman Building, UCD, Belfield.
The series is organised by UCD de Bhaldraithe Centre for Irish Language Scholarship, School of Irish, Celtic Studies, Irish Folklore and Linguistics.
Following successful and well-attended talks in Irish by John Walsh, NUIG, and Darach Ó Solaí, Leabhar Breac, the organisers are looking forward to welcoming the renowned sociolinguist Sali Tagliamonte, University of Toronto, to the Centre this May. In her lecture entitled ‘Canadian dialects? Exploring the transmission and diffusion of linguistic change in Ontario’, Professor Tagliamonte will focus on dialectal variation and change in Canadian English.
This lecture will be delivered in English. Attendance is free and is open to the general public.
