Join us in beautiful County Donegal, Ireland for the second annual Drew University Transatlantic Conference. The Drew University Transatlantic Connections Conference is a unique, multi-disciplinary conference embracing the connections between Ireland and the United States. In 2015, we will gather together again in Donegal from January 15th-18th to enjoy discussions, debates and discourse on the ties that bind us together. The Transatlantic Connections Conference takes place in the small Irish Town of Bundoran, and it is a collaboration between Drew University and the Institute of Study Abroad Ireland, which is based in Bundoran. The Conference is unusual in that it is open to the Irish public, and there is a full program of cultural activity and entertainment timetabled as part of the conference. It is a place where scholars and researchers can meet artists, writers, local historians and practitioners of the history and culture we aim to document.
The keynote speakers on Jan 15, 16 & 17 will be Don Mullan, Christine Kinealy and Theo Dorgan.
Each of our speakers are well known for their humanitarian work and activism on behalf of the disadvantaged on either side of the Atlantic. Each of our speakers have made a valuable contribution to our understandings of aspects of Irish History and Culture, and its relationship to the United States.
