On Saturday 14 May, 2.00–4.00 p.m., in the beautiful Studio Theatre of the amazing dlr Lexicon, the Academy will be celebrating the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death with the workshop Shakespeare: Here and Elsewhere.
Professor Mark Thornton Burnett MRIA, QUB and member of the Study of Languages, Literature, Culture and Communication Committee will be presenting this workshop on Shakespeare in modern popular culture.
There will even be prizes for guessing, oops, knowing the play, period, language and country of film clips of Shakespeare plays from around the world.
Why not combine this event with a stroll down the pier, a famous Teddy’s ice cream or a Johnny-come-lately Scrumdiddly’s, and finally a dip in the Forty Foot or Sandycove Beach (for the less brave).
Suitable for adults and students from 16 years plus.
