An ability to develop and operate successfully in interdisciplinary research teams is fast becoming a key skill in academia. No where more so that in the area of health and wellbeing, which addresses complex issues, with medical, social, and economic dimensions each at the fore. Key funders, including the IRC, SFI and Horizon 2020 are increasingly calling for demonstrable interdisciplinarity in their funding calls. However, developing interdisciplinary research teams is not an easy process. This becomes even more challenging as researchers attempt to work across the AHSS-STEM divides.

A group of academics from the University of Limerick* and Limerick School of Art and Design (LIT) have successfully bid for funding from the Irish Research Council to offer a unique opportunity for Irish based researchers to participate in a 4 day workshop aimed not only to talk about interdisciplinary research in health and wellbeing, but to support and enable researchers to form and develop these teams. Put simply, you will arrive as a single academic, and leave as part of a research team ready to respond to funding calls, or indeed, shape future calls for funding.

The workshop, which is residential, will be held over 2x2 days. All accommodation and food offered as part of the workshop will be paid for and there is no fee to participate. (please note that if you are not a full time researcher/faculty in a HE institution some costs may apply.
